Why?

Why? I just want to know why it is so hard to get the kids out the door and on the way to school in the morning.

Can't anyone answer me that question?

We are late for school so often the ladies in the office are joking that instead of signing the late sheet they should just make me a stamp. Let's just say I am a regular.

The thing I don't get is that the kids have no problem getting up at a ridiculous hour on Sunday morning. The one day of the entire week that I can actually sleep in and they have to get up early. During the school week I have to drag them out of bed at 8 o'clock. I mean when I go into their room during they week they are still dead asleep. What is that about? Someone explain.

It is just hard to get them to eat breakfast, get dressed, get their school stuff and get in the car. I just don't get it.

Anyone else have that same experience? What do you do to help make the morning move smoothly? I could use all the help I can get

  1. I wish I had some advice for you.

Maybe your girls can teach mine how to sleep in? Mine are up at 7am everyday of the week :(

  2. I have advice that worked like a charm for me. I had three kids aged 4,6 and 7 to get up, dressed, and to the school bus at the end of our LOOOOONG driveway by 7:20 every morning. Always a hassle until I discovered the power of music.

I blogged about it a couple of years ago. Seriously, it works - the get up and go playlist.

  3. Wendy... I would love to have my girls teach your girls to sleep in.

Denise... thanks for the information. I am checking out your blog and think I need to make a playlist of my own! Fantastic idea. My girls love music ( what kid doesn't)
